Sleep

Being really tired right now, I thought it would be appropriate to post Eric Whitacre conducting his own piece "Sleep." The chorus is made up of the VocalEssence Chorus & Ensemble Singers, The St. Olaf Choir, and the 160-voice Minnesota High School Honors Choir.

Oh, wow!!! Aren't those chords beautiful? And the dynamics? How fun to sing for the man who wrote the music you're singing!! I think Eric Whitacre is becoming one of my favorite composers.

This reminded me a lot of BYU choirs. Ahh. Missed those days of watching performances:)
I agree about the conductor. Great leading!
Thanks for the new & nice piece:) Hope you're sleeping by the way:)

The BYU Singers put out a CD of Eric Whitacre songs. Their concerts are where I was first introduced to him.

That was most impressive.

I am moved.

Have you heard 'Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine' by him? My high school madrigals sang it, and it was their sort of capstone piece that they practiced for ages. It's haunting!

Beck - Glad you enjoyed it.

Bug - I just looked it up and listened. Wow! Your high school madrigals did it? Phew! I watched Eric Whitacre direct it. Very fun!

The Salt Lake City Library has a CD copy of Cloudburst. I am now on the reserve list, next in line to enjoy. I'm SO happy.

Also, those evil golf teamers. What did they do to you?

Ooo! Have fun with that CD! Yay! And the golf teamers made fun of me. Rude! Tennis team is much nicer.
