I can't believe I did it again...

I started reading a book last night. It wasn't terribly interesting and I was just about to put it down (around page 20) when it started to feel awfully familiar. I read two more pages and realized that I had already started and rejected this book. (It just had nothing to capture my attention and I've gotten pretty good at putting down books I don't want to finish.)

The silliest thing is this is not the first time this has happened. At least I recognized it this time within 25 pages or so. Once, I didn't realize I had already read the book I was reading until the very end, when I started to remember what happened before I read it. Is this a sign of reading too many books? Am I the only one this happens to? Sigh...

Ha! I think that's happened to me before too. I recently finished a book only to be sad I finished it so soon. I want to stretch out the good ones, but can never seem to put them down...

Ha ha. I think that's one reason I wanted to do GoodReads. If it has happened to me, I didn't realize that it WAS a book I'd read before! And I don't think there is such a thing as too many books!

Oh my, do I understand you Sara. It happens to me with films too. It's always just a huge disappointment, especially when I've reached the bottom of my "library pile."

Then a desperate line of thinking enters into my mind, "What?!? That's the last one? And there are no more? No more until I go back to the library, seven blocks away? Is there no justice in this WORLD?!?"

I can't think of any preventative messures. Unless of course I start writing down every book or film I've ever read or watched from now on. And let's face it--That's not gonna happen.

Oh...and if there is such a thing as "too many books," I'm toast.

Debbie - I can totally understand that! I always wish the really goods ones were another 1,000 pages just so it would take longer to read. (Although my attention span isn't usually that long.)

Heidi - The problem with Goodreads is I don't always remember to put all my books down. Besides, what about all those books I read for the first 27 years of my life? :)

Becky - Not having watched as many movies as you, I don't think I've ever done that with a movie. (But it wouldn't surprise me.) I end up going to the library once or twice a week. But they pulled a mean trick! You can only check out 25 books at a time! Ruin my life, why don't you?! :)

ha ha... This reminds me of my sisters, cousins, and I. Every summer everyone would bring books they had read up to the family reunion cabin and we'd trade and then all sit around reading after a long day in the sun. It was a blast, but I show people pictures and they think we're a little weird.

Bri - That's hilarious! My family laughed at me because when I invited my friends over, sometimes we would just curl up in my room with different books and read for the afternoon. :) Like you said, it was a blast!:)
