Book Challenge Notification

My friend who helped me set up this book challenge and I decided to make a couple of changes for reasons I'm not going to share with you. (Mwa, ha, ha...)

#1 - Instead of 600 page book for the 25 points, it only needs to be 550 pages.

#2 - Children's books, in order to count for full points, need to be at least 100 pages long. For easy readers and such that are shorter than 100 pages, but longer than a picture book, we've decided that we'll give .5 points for each of those. So ten pictures books to get 1 point and two easy reader books to get 1 point. Make sense?

Oh, and one book counts for one category even if it could fit into multiple categories. No double-counting a book. (Not even if you read it twice!) :)

Come participate!

A Book Challenge

As recommended by my bishop, I have been thinking of New Year's Resolutions all week. I have set a few worthy goals in hopes of improving myself this year. I've been praying about it and hope they're the goals Heavenly Father wants me to set.

On a related subject, my friend and I participated in a book challenge last year where we read books to fulfill all sorts of different and sometimes difficult categories. This year, we were unable to find a reading challenge we liked, so we came up with one. Anyone who would like to participate is welcome. I know most people don't have the time or inclination to read like I do. You could always cut out the A - Z part of the challenge. Without further ado...

Friendship

I had a beautiful dream last night about making new friends. I woke up, dying to write about my dream, but as I began to put it into words, it felt so mundane. How do you write about the simplicity of strong friendship in a way that shows that beauty I was feeling when I woke up?

Well, anyway, here's to friendship.

My friend had a link to a Sissel/Motab song and I started listening to a whole bunch of Sissel's stuff. Then I found this:

The Christmas Story

Yesterday, we got to go see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert. The first half of the concert was their Ghosts of Christmas Eve. I really enjoy the TSO, but the thing that really struck me yesterday was that they focused on the Christ part of Christmas rather than the commercial part. I really loved that and it helped me get even in more in the mood for this Christmas season.

I didn't know that the Church has a Christmas site, but I found it today. http://www.lds.org/topic/christmas/index.html

I found this video and I loved it, so I thought I would share.
